Celebrity Big Brother 2001 was the first series of Celebrity Big Brother UK. In aid of Comic Relief six celebrities entered the Big Brother 1 house for eight days, from 9 March to 16 March 2001. As Comic Relief is shown by the BBC, this was a rare collaboration between two rival television networks. While Channel 4 aired daily highlight shows, BBC One also aired 10-minute updates, as well as the final, which was part of the Red Nose Day telethon.

Anthea Turner is an English television personality. She is famous for presenting Blue Peter, GMTV and travel show Wish You Were Here...?. In the House, she did most of the cooking and cleaning, until she was evicted on Day 6.
Chris Eubank is a boxer. He speaks with a lisp and in upper-class tones, dresses as a stereotypically upper-class Englishman and carries a cane. He was evicted after 36 hours in the House on Day 2.
Claire Sweeney is an actress, singer and television personality, famous for playing Lindsey Corkhill in soap opera Brookside. In the house, she became good friends with Anthea Turner, and they have remained close friends since appearing in the series. She left in second place on Day 8.
Jack Dee is an English comedian. During evictions, he dressed up in a tweed jacket and cap and held his packed suitcase, hoping to be voted out. He escaped from the House for several hours during Day 2, but returned soon after. During the eviction of Anthea, he ran out of the House to see his wife. Also, on Day 7, he loosened a panel on the toilet roof using a screwdriver provided by Big Brother, which Big Brother thought was to fix his sunglasses. He left the House as the winner on Day 8.
To avoid being associated with the show, Dee has declined to allow footage of himself from Celebrity Big Brother to be rebroadcast on television.[1]
Keith Duffy is an Irish singer, famous for being part of the band Boyzone. He left the house on Day 8, in third place.
Vanessa Feltz is a journalist and broadcaster. She showed signs of stress in the House, one time scrawling on the dining table with chalk provided for a task, and screaming obscenities when Big Brother called her to the Diary Room. She was evicted from the House on Day 4. Vanessa returned to the house in 2010 as a housemate in Ultimate Big Brother. She entered on Day 11 as a late entrant and was the fifth and final person to be evicted before the final on Day 16.

Big Brother decided that they passed this task and, as a reward, Big Brother played Westlife's Comic Relief song into the house. |

After the eviction there were another round of nominations this time Vanessa(3 Nominations) and Jack(4 Nominations) were up for the chop. | |

| Day 3 | Tasks | The task on Day 3 had housemates memorize 10 facts about each other. Housemates were each asked 3 questions at random later in the day. Housemates passed this task, and gained £18 worth more shopping. |
| Events | Vanessa was missing her family and when writing the shopping list she wrote on the table and when Big Brother asked her to come to the Diary Room she said "No F**k Off". | |
| Day 4 | Tasks | The task was for the celebrity housemates to make a topiary model. Housemates passed this task, and won a film to watch. |
| Exits | Vanessa was evicted from the House with 71% of the public vote. | |
| Day 5 | Tasks | Day 5's task was for housemates to write and perform an original song about their time in the house. Housemates passed and won a takeaway dinner. |
| Day 6 | Tasks | This task involved housemates taking part in an assault course. Housemates completed the task in 3 minutes and 5 seconds, thus passing the task. |
| Exits | Anthea was evicted from the Big Brother House with 52% of the public vote. | |
| Day 7 | Tasks | The housemate's task on Day 7 was for each of them to take care of baby simulators called "Juanita" to test their parenting skills. Housemates passed and won a Wild West themed party. |
| Day 8 | Tasks | The final task was for housemates to paint their favourite view of the house. Housemates presented these later in the day. |
| Exits | Keith left the House in third place, Claire in second and Jack left as the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2001. |
